Rain! and Cream Cheese Danish

Those aren't blobs on the camera lens; that is rain! We finally got nearly 1/2 inch yesterday afternoon. What a delightful treat. The temperatures never got past 70° and this morning it is 46°! Wonderful; wonderful!

I took advantage of the cooler temperatures to make our favorite Cream Cheese Danish. I got the recipe from Thibault's Table blog. I have quite a few of her posted recipes that have now become regulars for me. I think I have already posted the recipe. This one is so easy. I never remember to make the dough the night before so I do the wait a few hours method.

We have thoroughly tested one of them....

While the rain was coming down, we watched True Grit from Netflix. We both loved the movie. Of course, we like all westerns and hope this one is setting a new trend for movies. We opened the back door so we could enjoy seeing the rain coming off the awning.

  1. Yum, I will have one of those pastries right now-look so good! You sure take good photos.

We just got a 1/4" of rain but sure enjoy the cooler temps.

Our youngest daughter turned 41 yesterday so we had her BD supper last night. Just six of us here (our other daughter and my sister and her husband) but it takes me all day to get things ready. I try to pace myself by starting early and taking breaks through the day. I fixed little hamburger patties with mushroom soup and onions, chicken tenders, mashed potatoes, corn, lettuce salad, mac and cheese, biscuits and chocolate delight. This is the menu she asked for. The girls took most of the leftovers home with them. Good evening.

  2. Oh I'm soooo glad you got some measurable rain at last and are enjoying cooler temps! You must feel invigorated. And nothing says celebration like a fresh cheese Danish. Yum!

  3. Am jealous of your rain! It was just north of us....again. We got about two minutes of "rain", not even enough to knock the dust down on the roads.

And those danish look incredible! May have to make those this weekend for a breakfast treat.
