Waiting for the storm

This was another very warm, breezy day. It is now 65°. We are waiting for the storm.

I did some more fruit tree pruning, and began cleaning out the raspberries and blackberries. I also planted more vinca seeds. Pinetree finally sent my backorder.

Good news. The last batch of yogurt did make. I guess that 185° step is necessary.
I had some this morning with honey and granola and enjoyed it very much.

I got some frozen meat sauce from the freezer and DH had it with fettuccine; I made a small amount of alfredo sauce for mine. I was pooped.

I have two clumps of daffs in bloom:

I finally caught a White Breasted Nuthatch at the feeder. They are very fast and hard to get a picture of.

  1. I just got an alert on the computer for winter storm watches and advisories for Sun through Tue. There goes the gardening, out the window for a while, can't win.
    Your daffs are gorgeous.
    Enjoy your weekend.

  2. It's hard to believe that you and Denim and others are in for more winter weather.

So glad your yogurt turned out well this time. It sounds good to me, especially since it's from your own milk!

You must get up awfully early in the mornings to do all that you do in one day.

I love your daffs and wish I could grow them here, but alas.

Have a great day ~ FlowerLady

  4. Oh! I've seen birds like that here and wondered what they are. Never been able to get a picture of them. I'll have to share this info with Hubs.

I'm enjoying my Kefir. If you ever want to try it, just let me know. Every day, I have about 12 oz. with a heaping spoonful of homemade jam. My faves are blueberry, peach and pineapple-banana. Last night I threw in a small amount of chopped almonds and that was delish.

I hope you did ok in the storm. It turned off cold here and we expect 20º tonight.

I have some bulbs but I don't know what they will look like yet as none have produced any flowers. Your stuff is ahead of mine.

    Have a good weekend! XOXOXO

  6. Had some thunder and lightening and lots of rain-gauge isn't out yet so don't know how much. Rained hard for awhile and then lighter for a long time. I had a diet Coke with caffeine for lunch while out yesterday; I shut my light off at 1:30 a.m. and it was still raining lightly. Turned colder too.

Read a good book during my 'awake' hours. Deanne Gist's 'Maid to Match'. The backdrop is the Biltmore Estate. I was there several years ago-incredible place- so enjoyed the history lesson.

Have a nice weekend-ours will probably be a quiet one.
