I think I set a record for no journal entries.....It has been a busy 11 days!
This our weather right now. This is taken from the porch looking south,
What has been happening on the farm....
First of all, we had Christmas with our daughter before Christmas....they left on Christmas Eve. I made lots of jams and breads for them all.
They left on the 24th
Our son brought his three down on the 25th.....on the way to a skiing trip to Colorado. They spent the night and left by 5 am the next morning. The middle one, Jen, 12, stayed the rest of the week with us. She didn't enjoy the long skiing days.
They spoiled Sugar while here. They got her up in their laps in my kitchen chair....daily. That is a little habit I will have to break this week.
They packed up everything and left by 5 AM this morning.
I am now out of bread....almost out of jam and will be baking either later today or tomorrow.
I took a bad cold yesterday but am some better this morning. I am taking massive doses of Vitamin C which I think is helping.
Happy New Year to all my Friends in Blog Land!

My, that's a whole lott'a jam!! And almost out of jam now to boot!
ReplyDeleteHope you enjoyed your multi-Christmas's and have a Happy and Safe New Year!
See ya next year :)
Wow, you cornered the jam market and the bread. Busy bee.
ReplyDeleteI wish you a most wonderful, blessed New Year, may it bring wonderful things to you and yours.
Hugs
It's funny how being a little off schedule can bring on a cold . . . bet that's what happened to you. It was nice that you had family with you over Christmas. That always makes the holiday special!
ReplyDeleteYour preserves and bread all look wonderful and I'll bet were much appreciated by everyone.
Hope your cold disappears quickly. Best wishes for a wonderful New Year.
P.S. Looks like you have about as much snow on the ground as we do up here in northern Minnesota. What's wrong with that picture?
Sorry you've got a 'bug', Glenda. Keep popping those vitC tabs. I hope you get well soon.
ReplyDeleteGoodness, you sure give Santa's elves a run for their money - you work just as hard as they do this time of year. Looks like apple and peach jam, maybe? And something even darker in there. I'll bet the kitchen smelled great that day. Glad you had a nice Christmas. Happy New Year.
Apple butter was the darker one. There was also some strawberry so that could have been a dark one. It was the most dear since I used the last of the strawberries and wouldn't you know, I dropped the largest jar on the back porch and broke it!
DeleteOh my look at all those wonderful jams and loaves of bread.
ReplyDeleteI am sorry to hear that you caught a cold, but am glad to hear you are taking Vit C and feeling somewhat better today.
Loved seeing your snow covered farm.
Have a wonderful 2013.
Love and hugs to you dear Glenda ~ FlowerLady Lorraine
Snow is all gone and it is a littler warmer this morning 37°.
DeleteFeeling a little worse today so plan to do very little besides snooze and read.
Glenda, you did too much and wore yourself out...get some rest!!...:)JP...an old lady who cares!
ReplyDeleteI will be resting today....still in my jammies.
DeleteGlenda,
ReplyDeleteI'm glad to hear your starting to feel better. It sounds like you've had a busy house with family traveling in and out. Happy New Years To You and Yours my friend.
I'll also be baking plenty of bread in the next several days.
Stay warm and enjoy!
I stopped the aspirin and this morning feel pretty bad....just a bad cold, no fever or anything. I will be doing very little of anything today! DH is on Puppy Patrol.
DeleteWell, if it hadn't been for the fact that you've been commenting on my blog, I'd have been shooting you some "R U OK?" e-mails. I knew this would be a busy time for you.
ReplyDeleteYou hang in there and take good care of yourself, if one must have a cold, it's probably better to have it now than at the height of garden preparation season. Hugs to you and yours, and here's to next year: May it be so much better than 2012. XOXOXOXO
I am still kicking but feeling lousy this morning...put on a pot of white beans.....there will be very little cooking going on here today.
ReplyDeleteHope you get to feeling better soon, Glenda! You have been very busy...the jams and breads look so good. I know your family really loves to come to your house!
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year!!
