New Door

We have it installed are are liking it very much.  I still haven't painted the trim around it.  My trim is all  eggshell and the door is white.......what to do; what  to do.  I sure don't want to paint all the trim in the room and will probably just do the door facing in the present color.

It is now Friday morning; weather news is not good; over 100° today and l06° tomorrow.  I went out early and watered the pole beans (probably a lost  cause) and the strawberry row.  DH is watering the rest of the orchard trees.

Not much planned for today unless I decide to make a Wal  Mart  run.  Knowing me, I will put it off until next  Monday.

  1. That door looks great, Glenda. And I'm sure it's well insulated and will come in handy this winter when it's cold and blowy (we can only hope! *heh*).

90s today. Am having to water all pot plants 2ce a day now what with the dry winds evaporating everything. First summer I've ever run the A/C regularly. Expected the worst when the electric bill came but was pleasantly surprised. Will not hesitate to run more A/C in August.

Looks like storms predicted for Sunday. I wish we could get just the rain and not all the drama. Stay cool - don't overdo...

    1. We are now watering daily instead of every 2 or 3 days. I hope it is helping.

No storms here, but they have dropped the predicted high somewhat.

  2. Beautiful door Glenda. I have one similar but no window. It sure does keep the cold air out,(maybe I don't want the cold air out this year after all of this heat).
I pulled all of my pole beans, no beans set. Pulled the big heirloom tomatoes, only two tomaotes set.
I don't have too much planned either. I need to write up for my blog and try better to keep up with it.
I am planning on canning up some hot peppers this weekend, and let me tell you, these peppers are HOT! :&*) I have a few Roma tomatoes to do also.
Have a wonderful weekend, stay cool, its supposed to be 100* today, a cold front late this afternoon, cooler tomorrow, then hot next week. YUK.
    Hugs

    1. This door is very tight and is fully insulated, but looks was the thing. The old one was hollow-core with the three small windows set at stairsteps....very unattractive.

You stay cool too and don't over do!

  3. Your new door will be beautiful painted eggshell, Glenda...I would do the same! It's going to be a hot one here today but only 90's and very high humidity (that's what kills me!!) Try to stay relaxed and cool...:)JP

    1. You mean paint the door itself? Egads! I hesitate to do that. It is fiberglass but is smooth finish not wood grain.

  5. Thats a beautiful door! I love that you have light coming in through the windows. I would have to agree with going to Wal-mart, I would wait until Monday. I hate traveling into town and going there on the weekend, to darn busy.

  6. That's just like MY front door!

there's a wildfire near Oklahoma City. Too close for comfort to where Paula lives. I'm going to try to reach her today.

    1. Let me know about Paul's fire. That is darned scary.

WE are so windy now that a fire would be devastating.

  7. Your new door looks like mine! I painted the inside of the door to match and blend in with the living room walls (a light beige) and like it a lot.
I hope you've gotten some of the rain that kept mainly to the south of us. We only had a sprinkle here. And that is pretty much all we've had all summer...sprinkles!! We are getting sick and tired of the heat and drought! There's so much I wanted to do, but it's just too darn hot.
    Take care and stay cool!

  8. I like the new/old door... that's a compliment by the way! I mean it's a traditional style that's been around a long time and that's a good thing! That was the style door we had in our first apartment years ago. It had been a grand old home in Fayetteville so the doors were wood and so pretty. It was one of the things I loved about that first place! We're getting cabin fever here too, same as winter stay inside to be comfortable. At least we got a little rain last week and the temps are supposed to let up a few degrees off 100 this week. Will this summer ever end???
