The rains have missed us. It is windy and very warm. I have worked outside two of the three days. One day was spent picking up the mower and doing errands.
I am happy to report that I have completely cleaned the 40 foot long bed by the shop/garage.....it was not an easy job. I also said I wasn't going to do it........here is a little picture of the corner of the bed before and after. That grass is cheatgrass, a type of native brome (not native to us but from Asia!).
and after
and this is the area just to the left of the the garage door and this corner,
and after,
I still haven't planted any more garden.
I have lots of things blooming now, some still amid weeds.
peonies are beginning,
and lots of iris,
Electric Shock
Champagne Elegance,
and either Pink Attraction or Beverly Sills
and my favorite,heirloom

Very pretty flowers. I like your iris collection.
ReplyDeleteKudos on a tough weeding job!
Oh my what a difference after getting rid of that weedy grass. A LOT of work. Love your irises and peonies. It all is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely Sunday ~ FlowerLady
Beautiful flowers Glenda!
ReplyDeleteI like what you did by clearing out the grass around the garage :-)
Wow...you've been working hard. It looks great! I love Iris...mine are just starting to open!
ReplyDeletePears and Irises are just so photogenic! Everybody should chop down their Bradford pears and plant fruit trees.
ReplyDeleteYou did a great job with the weeding. Weeding is never finished here.
I'm so glad you were passed by the severe weather going on in the mid-section. I thought I saw some nasty radar near you yesterday...
ReplyDeleteYou beds are looking good and I love your selection of iris. Not much getting done here these days. Oh well. Take care.
Wow, what transformations! Did you get a chance to look at your dame's rocket?
ReplyDeleteSue, I did and it has the same leaf as your picture. I know it is supposed to be a nuisance, but I love it. Of course, I have so much space that I don't care where it comes up.....except in the garden.
