Weather continues cool and overcast.

Flowerlady was kind enough to post her recipe for Oatmeal Craisin  cookies and I did make them.  We thought they were delicious and this now will become "the" oatmeal cookie recipe.  I like the texture of the cookies.  This was a DIY recipe so I made some changes:

I added l cup of coconut
and  l cup of chopped English walnuts.

From Food

I always bake one tray darker because my husband likes his cookies semi-burnt.  I put the rest in a ziploc bag and froze. I will see if the family likes them over Thanksgiving.
The recipe can be found on Flowerlady's blog

Not much else happened yesterday other than a trip to the library to return some books and pick up others.  I found another book by Donald McCaig, Canaaen, another Civil War novel.  I am looking forward to starting that one.

  1. Good morning Glenda ~ I completely forgot to give us any yesterday. I was so engrossed in what I was doing in the computer I didn't even think of them at all. DH didn't think of them either. Yours look like they came out just fine. Coconut sounds good to me. I like it that there are different ways to make these. Enjoy.

  3. This looks like a keeper! I use a recipe off the butter Crisco can that sweetens with honey but I'm going to try this one out since it sounds so good. Could be dangerous to have at my house...

  4. Those look yummy. I don't bake often, but when I do I always load up on the walnuts every chance I get. Mmmm-mmmm!
