August 27 Post Tentative Diagnosis - Need Rain - This and That

Cool morning here and we have been having some lovely cooler days........still no rain!

Doctor's appointment was Thursday and I was really glad to hear he doesn't think RA; rather polymyalgia rhumatica. He did two more blood tests to help him be more definitive. One is back and supports his diagnosis. Haven't heard from the other one. I may be able to keep it under control with just my aspirin regime! The other drug that practically eliminates it is steroids which I hope to avoid.

Hip problem is really a sacroiliac issue...degenerative arthritis. Solution: stay off my feet while it is bothering me. It will eventually go away; it always does. I am not quite there yet, but it is better. So I am working in spurts with rests in between.

I hope this will be my last post of a health nature!

Gardening

DH tells me he will be picking tomatoes today! I would like to can some more juice. We both love it. I also may be looking for peppers at a local farmer's market today...if I want to make salsa and I do. My peppers this year were almost a total flop, a first.

He will be mowing around the house for me and then I will trim next to the beds.
I have been watering these areas so the grass has grown...the rest of the yard is dry and brown.

Yesterday I watered the Grace Bed and will need to chop some weeds there. I never did get around to mulching it.

Farm

I finally milked Willow yesterday! I have been missing that. She was very cooperative and I took my gallon and then let her babies have the rest. I plan to milk every couple of days now. Back to my old morning routine. We may have to wean the older calf now; he is certainly old enough and is eating grain well.

DH reported another set of twins born. This time they were both nursing. Willow can't handle a 4th!

Household

We have been moving furniture and vacuuming and spraying getting ready for winter.
We plan to start removing curtains and cleaning them next. While they are down, I hope to clean the windows.

I want a new cover for our bed but haven't found anything that grabs me yet.
