We got another 1 inch rain overnight, but no storm. Everything is greening up.
I took this out the kitchen window toward the feeding tree. I can't believe how green the grass is getting.

The Grackles are back.....and the Red Wing Blackbirds.

I planted two varieties of agastache seeds from a 'blogger friend' and they were up in less than a week.....maybe the broccoli with take a hint. Kris, you need to tell me how you get such dark healthy color in your lettuce. Mine looks anemic.

Today is supposed to be a nice 60° and I hope to do some cleaning off of my garden. I am no Larry. Mine still has debris from last season.

I am still waiting for the hellebore to bloom.......maybe 4 possible. So far this plant is "much ado about nothing" in my book.

I set another 1/2 gallon of yogurt this morning. I can't believe I have eaten almost all of the other one. I am doing this a little different. I took some warm morning milk....did not pasteurize it at all and put it in a pan of hot water to bring it from 80° to 110°; stirred in the Dannon starter and set it on the heating pad. I want to compare taste between it and the pasteurized one. I will be freezing some starter from the best flavored ones.

  1. Glenda - I keep the lights no higher than 4-5 inches above the top of the lettuce leaves. I also feed them with weak fish emulsion every couple of weeks for nitrogen. They grow like weeds...!

  2. I'm jealous of your green grass. Our snow is all gone but the grass is still brown.

I just googles agastache. I'd love to have some but I read the following I decided not to try it. "Agastaches grow best in full sun and well drained soils. The well drained part is especially important in winter."
